If the cone angle is not constant, you'll have to model your own thread type. You'll need to do a sweep cut of the profile along a path.

Supposedly the taper is totally incompatible with the code that does threads. You also can't do custom threads. My fix is to insert tapered plugs where I want the hole, boolean cut, then threadmill the hole.

If it is after you make the thread and measure it by hole diameter, it is giving you the minor diameter of the hole, not the major.
