Neither is 100% water tight, mainly because the actual bed of the truck has gaps that allow water in even with a hard top installed.

Major differences I see so far is fans top comes with a tonneau cover (costs about 150 more) and has all Velcro attachments. Soft top has buttons all around except for the tail gate and end towards the cab. Feb 22, 2024 #5 OP stank.243

Aside from that, most people are happy with it.
