So get the old dried sikaflex off I have tried a heat gun and scraper with minimal success. I tried a blow torch and scraper with about the same level of success. Lo and behold, the Sikaflex began to dissolve, albeit rather slowly. Once again I gently rubbed the affected area with a finger nail and repeated the light saturation of the offending patch. Recently removed some off my car that was over 20yrs old. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't anything out there that will get cured Sikaflex off that won't damage paint. If you are using Sikaflex then best to mask off the edges and cut the excess off after it has cured. You get a nice clean edge then. 22 Jan 2013. #9.

When we say mechanical removal, we mean either waiting the 7 days for the Sikaflex to wear off your hands, or absolutely scrubbing the heck out of yourself with a green scourer – not at all recommended!
