We used to use a mixture of old sump oil and fisholene - about 1 to 3 mix (1 litre fisholene) spray the whole vehicle - obviously not exterior (chassis rails,inner door and 1/4 cavities, sills etc.) and let it drip out - stunk for a week or so but excellent rust protection.
