WebAug 12, 2012 · I have had the Black T treatment done on my 1911 Commander several years ago after shooting the snot out of the gun. The phosphate finish was looking ratty. It made the gun look great. I still use some lube, but there is Teflon in the finish. It'll scratch, but the finish is durable in normal use.
